It’s official ya’ll, #ChristmasCookiesWeek has finally come to an end. Added bonus, I didn’t kill anyone in the process, which in itself is pretty amazing considering the amount of time I spent in the kitchen whipping up batch after batch of delicious holiday cookies to hand out to my friends and neighbors and share here with y’all. All this week, I’ve been sharing tips with all of you on how to up your Christmas cookie swap, cookie exchange, or cookie platter game, but the biggest tip I have for you is to breathe deeply and remember that holiday baking is all about putting a smile on someone’s face.
Even I will admit that things can get considerably daunting after you’ve washed the same mixing bowl over five times in one day, dropped a tray of cookies all over the floor because you burnt your hand on the oven rack while trying to remove them from the oven, been to the market over four times because you always seemed to forget that one ingredient you needed the most, and been given the stink eye by the cat because your holiday baking ruckus is preventing her from getting her much-needed beauty sleep. The cat will survive, your hands will recover from the dryness caused by over-washing, and eventually, there will be cookies.
Cookies which will bring happiness to many. Cookies that will be so yummy, you won’t be able to resist eating half of them before packaging them up in their pretty little containers to distribute to those you love most. Cookies that when combined together on one platter or tray, will look prettier than anything you’ve ever seen or imagined before. Yes y’all, Santa is going to be one big fat jolly man this year after visiting your house, and I can guarantee that with these cookies, you are definitely going to make Santa’s NICE list. Unless, of course, you eat all of the cookies before his arrival, in which case, you’ll most certainly find yourself on his Naughty list.
