So many desserts come out of my kitchen each year, that it’s really pretty difficult to pick out just a few favorites. I guess the easiest way for me to come to a decision on which ones to choose, was to think back on the ones I actually truly enjoyed eating because I am someone who absolutely refuses to waste precious calories on a dessert that I don’t really like. All of the recipes below are ones that I either refused to put the fork or spoon down for or else stood over the kitchen sink scarfing down as quickly as I possibly could.
Golden Oreo Peach Cobbler Ice Cream
I pretty much always get excited about ice cream, especially when I get to throw cookies in it. Yum. Add fresh peaches into the mix, and how am I to resist? Why bother turning on the oven to bake a peach cobbler in the middle of the hot summer, when all I have to do is turn on the ice cream machine?
So many amazing cookies came from #ChristmasCookiesWeek that I don’t even care about the ten pounds which I gained from eating all of them. These almond and eggnog drizzled cookies were a particular favorite because they were just as gorgeous as they were tasty.
Garden Mint Cookies and Cream Ice Cream
B.O.B. Bob despises any dessert where chocolate and mint are combined, but even he had to admit that this ice cream was pretty friggin’ fantastic. What started off as an excuse to use up some of the copious amounts of fresh mint which I keep on my back deck, turned into a pretty good thing.
Malibu Winter Thumbprint Cookies
I’m pretty sure that I’m not the only one who dreams of a warm island vacation when the cold of winter is chilling the air all around me. These cookies help make surviving the winter a whole lot easier, not to mention they also help brighten up the kitchen. Oh, and did I forget to mention that there’s rum involved?
Roasted Balsamic Cherry Chocolate Cake
Never have I made a more “moist” cake. In fact, it was so “moist” that I couldn’t help but mention it about several gazillion times in my recipe post. And yes, I’m still sticking with that word to describe this gorgeous chocolate-drenched cake, mainly because I haven’t figured out a better word to use yet.
Golden Sandwich Cookie Chocolate Chip Cookies
So why was I so gosh darn excited about these cookies? Well, because they’re made using other cookies. Who doesn’t love a cookie inside of a cookie? It’s like double the yum yum.
Aloha Hawaiian Pineapple Butter Cake
What started off as a dessert that my father would absolutely adore, quickly became a cake that almost everyone I know quickly fell head-over-heels for. It’s light, sweet, and packed full of aloha. This is the cake of your Hawaiian dreams.
Crystallized Gingerbread Chocolate Chip Cookies
There was no better dessert in my kitchen this year than these chocolate chip-studded gingerbread cookies. I am a little ashamed to admit that I probably ate three-dozen of them all by myself. Just a little. They were so good, that honestly, I just don’t really care. I refuse to feel guilty.
