Practice makes perfect…or something like that. The blog branding for Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck is still a work in progress. There is an amazing logo that only a select few have been given the privilege of seeing, and now the graphic designer and I are moving on to backgrounds. It’s slower going than I thought it would be, but I love every blessed second of it and am doing my best to ensure that in the end I will be insanely happy with the results. I kinda want to show y’all the logo, because it’s just that groovy, but nope, I’m not gonna do it. You’ll just have to wait. Instead, I can give y’all the scoop on what else has been going on here at Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck. After all, I need to start practicing for the weekly email newsletters that will become the norm one day soon, right? It’s been a pretty busy past week, and if things keep going the way they are, I’d say this week might get even crazier. Thank God it’s Wednesday and we’re halfway through.
Faith, Hope, Love, Luck’s Pink Rhubarb Ice Cream recipe was featured on Fiesta Friday last week, and Life Diet Health wrote to tell me that she tried a vegan version of the recipe for her parents and it turned out great. That’s what it’s all about folks, taking a recipe and making it your own.
If you follow Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck on Pinterest, please head over and check out the new Pinterest board I’ve created entitled “Amazing Food Recipes from Other Great Bloggers.” It’s pretty much what it sounds like; other bloggers sharing their favorite recipes. It can’t be all me all the time. That would get boring. There’s Smoky Bacon Potato Salad, Dump Ranch, Slow-Cooker French Dip Sandwiches, and many other great recipes. Head on over HERE to check out all of the great recipes.
Vive Mejor was kind enough to give us a shout out this week on Instagram for Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck’s recipe for Crockpot Egg Salad with Capers. You may remember that Hellmann’s Mayonnaise also gave us a shout out for the same recipe a while back.
For those of you who have known me for a long time, you will totally understand just how excited I am about what happened in the above-pictured Instagram comments. I am a die-hard fan of Blue Cattle Truck Mexican Vanilla, and will use nothing else in my kitchen when it comes to vanilla extract. So having them react to this picture of my empty two-quart bottle pretty much made me giddy beyond belief. I would gladly take over their Instagram any day and enjoy every little ol’ moment of it.
Terry from Cookin’ with a Terry Twist joined us this week for the Crockpot Monday Link-Up Party #6 with her recipe for Pulled Pork – A “Leaner” Version. I love that her version includes homemade barbecue sauce and not one out of a bottle. Huge bonus points.
Brenna’s Guest Star post on Katzenworld last week received many comments and a few reblogs. It seems that the world has fallen in love with Lady Brenna of Fairfax. Clearly they have no idea how crazy and temperamental she can be. You can head over HERE to see the post if you missed it, or just to read the many comments her adoring fans wrote.
Things I’m totally loving this week:
- “Talk to yourself like you talk to someone you love.” Huge thanks to Love Always Hannah for her suggestion to listen to a podcast on the subject of creativity. Think you don’t have a creative bone in your body? Think again.
- Grammarly: A free automated proofreading tool that helps to rid your writing of faulty sentences, potential errors, and misspellings as you type. It basically makes you feel brilliant. Why did it take me so long to sign up?
- I’ve found something that Brenna NEEDS! It’s the Ultimate Cat Scratcher Lounge.
