Are y’all ready for the Countdown to 2018? I know I am, and what better way to make plans for the new year, than to look back at the past year and see what went right and what went wrong. Today, I’ll be sharing a few of the appetizer and snack recipes that went totally right in the best way possible. As an added bonus, every single one of the recipes below would make a brilliant and delicious addition to your New Year’s celebration as well, so make sure to check them out.
Not Too Spicy Peach Jalapeño Guacamole
This guacamole is simply packed with flavor, yet not so spicy that you can’t eat a ton of it. After all, what good is guacamole, if it’s too hot to eat? In fact, this recipe was so amazing, that it was actually chosen to be the second place winner in the “Fresh from the Garden” Simple & Delicious recipe contest. Make sure to look for it this summer in their June/July 2018 edition.
This year, I became a member of Fish Friday Foodies in hopes of bringing more fish and seafood into our everyday diet. While I haven’t been participating as much as I would like to lately, it doesn’t mean that I still don’t have plans to make more dishes like this one in 2018. The crazy thing about this recipe is that is just so simple to make and doesn’t require many ingredients. I am continually surprised that the simplest recipes are almost always the best.
Now, y’all know that I am not a huge fan of spice, although, I will have to say that my tolerance is growing quite a bit. So, when I finished off a jar of candied sliced jalapeños that my Mom gave me within a blink of an eye, I just had to make my own version. I’m quite surprised how quickly I managed to use all of these sweet little beauties.
Sweet & Spicy Candied Jalapeño Deviled Eggs
After making all of those candied sliced jalapeños, I found that I needed to create a few recipes in which to use them. I think my favorite was definitely these sweet and spicy deviled eggs. Y’all know how I just adore a good deviled egg.
Twice Cooked Potatoes with Spicy Ketchup
After watching the Food ‘n Flix featured movie “The Martian,” I was inspired to make a unique and flavorful potato dish. Once again, for being so simple, this recipe sure does pack a wallop. It’s definitely one recipe you need to try. If not this year, at least next.
Simple Sun-Dried Tomato Deviled Eggs
And now, for my absolute favorite app and snack recipe of the year. These simple deviled eggs with sun-dried tomatoes pretty much stole my heart, stomach, and taste buds away. I can’t even count how many times I made them in one month after the first initial batch. I hope you’ll like them just as much as I did.
