Hey everyone. I’m Brenna, Mommy’s favorite little kitty cat. SoFabU is hitting the road, and I NEED Mommy to go along for the ride. Most of you have no idea what I’m talking about, and my human words are a little lacking on the subject, but I’ll do my best to explain. SoFabU on the Road is a conference that is open to all bloggers and influencers, and allows them to take advantage of hands-on educational opportunities. There are four locations this year; Brooklyn on May 14th, Chicago on July 9th, Dallas on September 17th, and LA on October 1st. You can find out more about #SoFabUOTR HERE if you are interested. Mommy is having a hard time trying to decide which location would be the most fun to attend; Chicago would be a completely new adventure, yet Brooklyn would also be a pretty amazing experience for her to have. I’m only allowed to leave the house to visit the vet once a year, so I really don’t know anything about either one of them. I’m afraid I’m not of much help to her. I can however share a few reasons why I think my Mommy has just got to go to one of these conferences.
First, I need more alone time with Daddy. He’s not nearly as strict with me as Mommy. He doesn’t yell at me in the mean voice to get down off the table, even though I’m not doing it any harm, and it has the most comfortable table runner covering it that’s just oh-my-gosh amazing to roll around on. Daddy also doesn’t get upset with me during the middle of the night for being too loud. Sure, he usually sleeps through all of my chatting, and won’t answer me when I shout for him, but it’s not his fault that he’s such a sound sleeper. Alone time with Daddy means more wand time, a little extra food in my bowl, and private discussions about how well we can do without Mommy, but that we really should let her believe that she’s needed and we can’t live without her.
Next, my nap time is in some serious decline. You see Mommy is always clicking away at that computer thing lately, and it’s just so gosh-darn noisy. She tells me that it is because she’s trying to learn, so that she can reach more readers by doing so, and how much SoFabU on the Road would help her with this. You see, she’s not so great with the whole computer thing; lots of bad words come out of her mouth every time she sits down in front of it. I pretend not to notice, but she’s so angry sometimes that I have to get up and leave the room. She says that if she is lucky enough to have the chance to attend the conference, she’d get to spend time meeting other people with her same interests, hopefully learn lots of new fangled things that make absolutely no sense to me, and come home from it all better able to achieve her goals. Of course she says it will also benefit me, because everyone will get to know my name and face, and fall completely in love with me. I’m not sure about all of that, but if it means that the clicking will stop for just a couple of days so I can get some sleep, I’ll humor her.
So why am I telling you about all of this? Well, because we #LuvSoFab so much of course, and also because SoFabU on the Road is having a contest where 2 lucky winners will receive a full pass to either the conference in Chicago or Brooklyn, round trip airfare, lodging for two nights, and $150 voucher for food and transportation. Since Mommy has been so busy lately with her “real” job and also caught up taking online classes, writing for Crockpot Monday, Bundt Bakers, Fish Friday Foodies, and working on a very unique guest post in the near future, she said I needed to work for my kitty nibbles and help her out with a contest entry. Am I doing all right? I really don’t want to disappoint her, because I know how much this would mean to her. It’s one step closer in a direction that she’s been thinking about for so long, but just starting to strive for. I know I give her a hard time most days, but she means the world to me, and I would do almost anything to see her happy, especially if it means that I get to sleep soundly for a couple of days with no clickity-clacking going on. So everyone keep their fingers and paws crossed for Mommy, and hope that SoFabU thinks my entry is the cat’s meow. I’ll be biting my nails while waiting for them to decide if they are going to choose Mommy.
