In my opinion, Father’s Day always gets a little less recognition than Mother’s Day does. Perhaps that may have something to do with the fact that our mother’s spend hours upon hours in labor with us, yet still find a way to love us regardless of all of the pain that we cause them while coming into the world. It makes sense, however, our dad’s feel the pain in a whole different way. Mainly in their wallets but also through teaching us how to play sports, how to drive a car, as well as how to change a tire. That last one I hope I never have to actually do because I’ll admit that I never really did pay too much attention to that lesson. It was always so much easier to watch him do it, while I stood on the side watching. I like to think of it as me showing him just how much he was needed. Plus, I could avoid getting my hands too dirty during the whole affair. So, let’s give it up to all of those dads and fathers out there who totally know how to change a tire, fill up our windshield wiper fluid, check our oil, wash our cars, and make sure our tire pressure is accurate. It’s not quite the same as giving birth but it’s still pretty gosh darn important.
