Top 5 Most Pinned Recipes – Reader’s Choice

We're counting down the days until New Year's 2019 by sharing our top 5 most pinned reader's choice recipes of the year 2018.

Every so often, I take a minute and check Pinterest to see which recipe posts of ours are the most popular. I’m always surprised. The recipes I like the most aren’t always the ones that do so well surprisingly. There’s no real right way to make a pin consistently succeed. This year though, I’ve noticed a few trends.

Recipes that have a person’s name associated with them do rather well, like Ginger’s Famous Island Beef Teriyaki, Brenna’s Leftover Rotisserie Chicken Soup, or Dad’s Country Garden Potato Salad. Get ready to see a lot more of these recipes in 2019.

I also noticed that recipes with added-phrases did rather well this year. These Prize-Winning Pumpkin Whoopie Cookies, this Kid-Friendly Buttered Rice with Pasta Stars, and this One-Pot Cajun Shrimp Chowder are just a few examples. That’s a trend I’ll have to keep in mind when coming up with recipe titles.

And last, the timing of adding a post to Pinterest seems to be extremely important. For instance, posting these Chocolate Chip Vanilla Cookies around the holidays turned out to be a very wise decision. People looking for Christmas cookie recipes really helped to boost this recipe’s popularity.

So, why are all of these things important? Well, the idea is for my recipe posts to get the most visibility I can possibly get for them. After all, my goal is for people to actually see, read, and make the recipes I develop. Keeping the above trends in mind may help with that in 2019.

Make sure to follow along with Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck on Pinterest if you haven’t already. Also, please feel free to pin our recipes. It’s a great way to find them later on when you’re looking for them.

Ginger’s Famous Island Beef Teriyaki

Island teriyaki sauce is a great way to turn sirloin steak slices or chunks into something truly amazing, with very little effort involved. The secret is marinating the beef in a mixture of soy sauce, brown sugar, olive oil, ground ginger, pepper, and finely minced garlic for at least 24 to 48 hours before grilling it.

Chocolate Chip Vanilla Cookies

These simple and unassuming chocolate chip cookies are so much more than they first appear. They’re soft and chewy, but also have an intense vanilla flavor that helps to bring out the taste of the semi-chocolate chips in them as well. In addition, they somehow manage to get even better after sitting for a few days after they are baked, which makes them the perfect Christmas cookie to add to a holiday cookie tray.
