So this week I’m recovering from a long holiday weekend jam-packed with lots of barbecue and beer. Let’s just say that my tummy is not my BFF right now and has no plans of liking me again because it knows that Herndon Festival is coming this week and I will yet again abuse it. How can I possibly say no to the best fair gyro in the world?

Remember last week when I said I don’t remember ever having brownies as a child? I found out the reason. Apparently my Dad doesn’t like brownies. I guess when your Dad doesn’t like brownies, your Mom doesn’t make brownies. Kinda sad, not to mention mean and borderline abusive.

BlogHer featured Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck’s Pink Rhubarb Ice Cream last week HERE in their food section. I’ll be making yet another rhubarb ice cream this weekend, but this time, I’m using strawberries and chocolate too. How scrummy-yummy-in-my-tummy does that sound?

I kinda fell head over heels for this Crisp Cucumber Salsa Recipe featured on Taste of Home last week. Why don’t I have cucumbers in my garden yet?

There’s no better feeling than when someone makes one of my recipes and then lets me know about it afterwards, except of course when someone waits patiently for weeks to make one of my recipes. This happened with my Simple Coconut Brownie Ice Cream last week. One of my Instagram followers instantly fell in love with the idea of this ice cream weeks ago when I shared a sneak peek and made both Milk Chocolate Coconut Brownies and Simple Coconut Brownie Ice Cream over the holiday weekend. That’s two recipes folks. Awesome sauce.

Things I’m totally loving this week:

• The As Seen on TV Slice Right Watermelon Slicer. Clearly I do not watch enough TV to have missed out on this invention. I’m 50/50 as to whether or not I should buy it right now. What are your thoughts?
• This week I can’t stop listening to Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. This music is perfect to dance iron to. Yes, that is exactly what it sounds like, and yes I do it quite often.
• That I’m finally getting to use our back deck now that the rain has finally stopped and the summer flowers have been spruced up. Absolute heaven. Y’all should really come hang out there with me one evening.
