I “heart” February, and not because I like to torture B.O.B. Bob into breaking out of his comfort zone, nudging him to become an overnight romantic. After more than twelve years together, my standards for romance have dropped. Oh my heavens, how they have dropped. B.O.B. Bob is romantic in a “practical” way. He makes sure that I am safe, happy, and is there for me when I need him to be. That includes pushing the buggy in the market, even though he knows his only true purpose is to pay the bill at the checkout counter and to help carry the groceries to the car. B.O.B. Bob shows his feelings in his own way, and like a lot of men, Valentine’s Day annoys him. He doesn’t like being “forced” to buy flowers for his lady. No problem, because I’m practical too. I have no issue picking out my own flowers on that same trip to the market where he’s pushing the buggy around. Pretty sneaky, huh? I get the flowers I adore, and he ends up footing the bill for them. You should check out the flowers that have recently made our mantle their home. They are adorable, and the end result of an impromptu trip to the market on Super Bowl Sunday. A man who is willing to give up watching the beginning of the game, so that he can push the buggy around the market, is a man who can make my heart melt any day. Romance comes in many packages, and I’m pretty lucky to have my “practical” B.O.B. Bob.
