Whether you’re looking for a quick meal, trying to use leftovers, or just craving something different, sandwiches are the answer. You can make a sandwich unique simply by changing the bread, condiment, protein, cheese, or other accouterments. I personally love anything fried thrown onto a sandwich, because the bread helps to soak up some of the grease. I also love the blend of sweet and savory, which is why I think jams, preserves, and sweet relishes all can find a welcoming home on top of any sandwich. Dessert sandwiches are even okey dokey in my book; I mean after all, isn’t strawberry shortcake really just a fancy strawberry and cream stuffed biscuit? In the world of sandwiches, anything goes.
