If you love the classic sweet-and-tangy flavor of honey mustard, prepare to drool over this homemade version with a smoky southwestern-spiced twist. Whether you’re using it as a dip to dunk crisp rainbow-colored peppers or veggies, a dressing for your favorite salad greens, or drizzling it over juicy, perfectly grilled chicken as a sauce, get ready to put this smoky southwestern honey mustard on pretty much anything and everything you eat. And let’s not forget this honey mustard’s vibrant pop of fresh green chives, which make everything on your plate look as gorgeous as it is delicious.
I’m always looking for an excuse to eat more veggies. Carrots, celery, radishes, and occasionally the rare cucumber or two, even if the evil lil’ buggers do so happen to make me suffer greatly each time I decide to throw caution to the wind and scarf a few of them down. And if a sauce, dip, or dressing like this one can make eating vegetables a regular occurrence in our house, well then who am I to argue? Bring it on. I’ll gladly try and convince myself that cucumbers are totally a thing that I can eat without writhing in pain for a day or two afterward. But you know what? Just to be safe, maybe I’ll just stick to using this dreamy flavor-packed honey mustard as a sauce to jazz up some baked pork tenderloin first. Then, maybe after that, I’ll use it next to make a creamy fresh summer corn and tomato salad one night for dinner. And maybe, just maybe, if those two recipes work out well, I’ll experiment with using it to make a deviled egg or two. The possibilities are almost endless, right? Watch out, you evil, vindictive cucumbers. You’ve got some competition coming your way.

- Use finely chopped fresh parsley in place of dried parsley. You will need to double the amount if using fresh.
