There are people in this world who vehemently claim that they detest anything with raisins added to it. I’m just going to say it now, “Those people annoy me.” Nine times out of ten, I am willing to bet that their raisin hatred has more to do with hating the raisins of their childhood; dried up, overly sugary, raisins that more resembled mouse turds than they ever did actual raisins. Thanks to better packaging, today’s raisins aren’t nearly so “petrified.” So, if you seriously believe that you don’t like raisins, I beg you to try this recipe. Afterward, if you honestly still think these cookies are the worst thing that you’ve ever had to eat, then I will happily accept the fact that you have a legitimate hatred for all things raisin related. Until then though, I’m still going to claim that it’s all in your head and that you need to put your big girl or boy panties on and eat some dang raisins.

Suggestions:

  • If you prefer not to have large-sized craisins and raisins in your cookies, feel free to chop them up a bit before adding them to the cookie dough.
  • Make sure to refrigerate the cookie dough for at least an hour. If you don’t, the cookies will spread out and become too flat.
  • This recipe will yield approximately 2 dozen cookies.
