Welcome to what I like to call “Cranberry Jalapeño Month,” otherwise known as the month your hands will consistently feel like they’re on fire and there’s absolutely nothing you can do about it. Yeah, that’s right, I may have forgotten to use gloves a few times when working with the jalapeños for this recipe and many others. Unfortunately, It didn’t help matters that I had to make this recipe twice either. The first time I made it, I only used two jalapeños, which I thought would add plenty of spice. Guess what? I was wrong. Apparently, the girl who used to be quite sensitive to spicy foods is beginning to develop quite the tolerance where they are concerned.
Now, I bet you’re wondering what this “jam sauce” is all about, aren’t you? Well, it’s not quite a jam, and it’s not quite a sauce; it’s somewhere in between. So, what exactly do you use it for? Well, I’ll be showing y’all just that over the next month. So get ready to see a lot of cranberry and jalapeño inspired recipes coming your way. So far, I’ve made a Warm Cranberry & Jalapeño Sweet Potato Salad, Crockpot Cranberry Jalapeño Swedish Meatballs, and Bacon Wrapped Cranberry Jalapeño Crackers. They’re pretty amazing recipes and I can’t wait to share all of them with you over the next few weeks.
So, I’m curious, how would you use this jam sauce? Would you use it as a dipping sauce or basting sauce for grilled chicken, use it to flavor your next summer cocktail, or slather it on top of crumbly buttered cornbread? I myself, plan on using this jam sauce to make Cranberry Jalapeño Southern Mint Juleps, and I also have every intention of eventually pouring it over softened cream cheese and serving it up with crispy crackers for a weekend appetizer. I can’t wait to hear how you would use this sweet and spicy jam sauce in your recipes, so make sure to comment below and share your ideas.

- Add a tablespoon or two of this jam sauce to your favorite cocktail to add extra flavor.
