Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That Crockpot Chili

Faith, Hope, Love, & Luck did not receive monetary compensation for this post, however, the kind people at Stubb’s did provide several free coupons in exchange for our honest opinion of their product.

Are you ready for fall? I know I am. I’m tired of watering half-withered plants, walking over scorched grass, suffering hotter-than-hell days, seeing way too many folks wearing clothes they shouldn’t be wearing due to the heat, enduring humidity-induced bad hair days, and constantly fighting off mosquitoes in an attempt to not be one gigantic bump covered human being. I’m more than ready for cooler days, pumpkins everywhere, Oktoberfest, Halloween-shaped pretzels, light sweaters, Caramel Apple Spice Milky Ways, and heaping bowls of chili with all the fixings piled on top.

Recently, I was sent several coupons in exchange for giving my honest opinion on a new product line introduced by Stubb’s. It doesn’t happen very often, but every once and a while I discover a new product that makes me a little giddy and makes me want to sing its praises to the world. For the most part, I’m usually pretty wary of new products at first, especially if I haven’t read the ingredient list yet. By now y’all know that I would much rather make my own seasoning or sauce if it means that I know just what exactly it is I’m putting into my big ol’ mouth. Thankfully, Stubb’s Chili Fixins Cookin’ Sauce has an ingredient list without any crazy ingredients listed, making it easy to fall in love with.

What really makes this timesaving product stand out is that it contains both a spice and a sauce packet. Adding more or less of the spice packet will give you milder or hotter chili. That’s a win-win in my book; I love that I have control over how hot I want my chili to be. I invited a few neighbors over last Monday to taste-test this recipe with B.O.B. Bob and me, and we all agreed that it was an absolute winner. I have a feeling it may become a recipe that helps us get through the next winter blizzard on our street. Hey, it’ll be here before you know it; wear your flip-flops while you still can.

Suggestions:

  • You can find Stubb’s Chili Fixins Cookin’ Sauce in most markets.
  • Use lager in this recipe; you don’t want a heavy beer to overpower this chili.
  • I used 1/3 of the spice packet in this recipe and it was just perfect. You felt some heat in the back of your throat, but it wasn’t overly spicy. Alter the amount of spice used according to your preference.
