I promised y’all pics from The 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Money, but before I get to that I want to say thank you to everyone who took the time to join us for the event. Also, I want to say thanks to everyone who brought a little something to brighten up the day. (I hope I’m not forgetting anyone, but if I am, blame it on B.O.B. Bob for not letting me know that you brought something!) Thank you, Scott and Kevin, for dropping the cutest decorating sugar grinders by before the party, even though you couldn’t attend. I hope you’ll be able to join us next year, and I can’t wait to use the sugars in one of my upcoming cookie recipes. A big thanks to Matt for the bottle of wine from DuCard Vineyards, as well as the two huge buckets of dried corncobs, which my squirrels are going to go absolutely crazy over. (Just because I have fat squirrels doesn’t mean you can come hunt them either!) A huge thanks to my parents for bringing two jars of fruit marmalade from their recent trip to Florida, as well as several homemade peanut butter eggs. A gigantic thanks with a hug to Linda for the amazing cupcakes from Pearl’s Cupcake Shoppe in Richmond. Thanks to you I think I’ve gained five pounds already this week. And finally, a big smooches and hugs thanks to D.J. and Tori for all of their artwork, even if Tori draws my head a bit on the large side. B.O.B. Bob and I hope to see y’all again next year, as well as those of you who couldn’t make it for one reason or another. (Brenna says a huge thank you for finally getting out of her house…she didn’t enjoy being locked up in the office all day while being taunted with your egg-searching voices!) Now, let’s get back to those pictures I was telling you about. These thirteen photos represent some of what I think were the best moments of the day. Enjoy!
1
The winner of the Best Bunny Ears Award easily went to my “Big Bubba” Matt!
2
It’s funny to see how everyone has a different egg-finding technique. Some people run hurriedly through the yard, some walk slowly while carefully assessing the situation, some rely on their crazy costumes to help them out, and others take a moment to clean out your dryer vent.
3
I love that my dad is not too proud to “gently” shove someone out of the way to get to the big prize-winning egg, after many hints from The Official Egg Flingers. Sorry Mary, maybe next year you’ll be a little bit quicker. To be fair, that egg blended into the leaves perfectly. Great hiding job B.O.B. Bob!
4
A huge thanks to Steve, who not only helped to hide the eggs but also looked after Brock during the hunt, even though he was a bit snotty!
5
This is why my brother is awesome! Even though he’s a guy, he’s not afraid to don some ears and join in the fun!
6
It seemed like B.O.B. Bob and D.J. wrestled for hours. D.J.’s one tough little boy, and B.O.B. Bob’s gonna have some bruises and sore muscles to show for all the roughhousing. P.S. I’m saving all of the pictures of D.J. getting “pants” by B.O.B. Bob for blackmail later in life!
7
Sara not only showed up in an amazing Easter costume, which included a homemade rubber ducky bonnet, but she also took the time to make her nails SUPER EASTER-FESTIVE!
8
Uncle Matt thought he would grab the back of Brock’s sweatshirt to slow him down but only succeeded in knocking him over and causing a crying fit. Mean Ol’ Uncle Matt, you may never be forgiven!
9
The Johnson kids added a lot of fun to the day, by helping point out where the money eggs were hidden, stealing “The Trade Egg” from Uncle Matt, knocking one another over to get to their own hidden candy eggs, and toasting PEEPS over the fire. Tori’s not so great at toasting PEEPS, but at least Aunt Colleen was there to help put out the flames!
10
For one of the first years ever, almost everyone came out ahead in “The Hunt.” Linda, David, and Mary both came out way ahead of their contributions for the first time ever. Congratulations guys, and hopefully you’ll be just as lucky next year.

Sometimes Easter means you have to make hard decisions, like which is more fun to play with, plastic Easter eggs, or beer bottles. Brock is definitely going to be a beer lover like his Uncle B.O.B. Bob and Aunt Colleen!
12
This is the moment that is so rare and unheard of in the Delawder family. Not only did someone manage to get a picture of my dad without his hand covering his face, but he’s also wearing a huge smile!

And then there’s my favorite moment of the day, taking time out to kiss my very own snuggle bunny, before getting back to spending time with family, friends, and neighbors.
