The Thursday Thirteen

My schedule has finally slowed down a bit for me to have some free time for myself, which means I’m already searching for ways to fill all of that extra time up. God forbid I just sit my butt down on a lounge chair to sip a fruity cocktail with a book in hand; I’d just feel like I was being a bump on a log. Here are just a few things I’m considering to keep myself occupied.

First off, I’m making this Pineapple Mojito, from Jelly Toast…like right away! Maybe I’ll talk a few neighbors into joining me for a summer drink.

Southwest Wontons from Damn Delicious are going to taste amazing alongside a fresh salad made from ingredients harvested out of our garden.

Parsley, Sage & Sweet’s Butterscotch Caramel Peach Cobbler will help me get rid of some of the many frozen peaches from last year’s trip to Graves’ Mountain Lodge that are taking up much needed space in our freezer.

I purchased this Women’s Embroidered Floral Shift Dress from Old Navy several weeks ago on clearance. Someone has just got to throw a party, so that I can finally wear the darn thing, because this dress is way too dressy to wear on July 4th.

B.O.B. Bob and I have a baby shower to attend this weekend…SIGH! I think I’m going to try making a batch of S’more Chocolate Chip Cookies to take with us. I’ll be using my own recipe, but don’t these S’mores Cookies from Crazy for Crust look yummy?

I can’t wait to make Heather Christo’s Pomegranate Glazed Shrimp. Oh how I wish we had shrimp in the freezer right now, just so we could have them for dinner tonight.

I’m trying to decide whether or not to buy this Hibiscus Flower Cutter & Veiner Set from Sugar Time, or create my own version of gum paste hibiscus flowers. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Wow! Take a look at these Herb and Cheese Stuffed Snap Peas from Life as a Strawberry. We have a ton of sugar snap peas growing in our garden right now, which will make a perfect addition to tapas night, when stuffed with creamy herb infused cheese.

It’s never too early to start thinking about Halloween. Our next project will be to start building and assembling the props to make this Guillotine display for our front yard this year.

OnoNOMopia’s Greek Yogurt Bread is next up on my list of breads to attempt. It may work, it may not; you’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

These BLT Lettuce Wraps from The Skinny Fork are going to help me get rid of some of the lettuce growing in our garden. They’re kind of like a salad but not, and they have bacon, what’s not to love about that?

By now you’ve come to realize that I’m addicted to Rice Krispie Treats lately. As soon as all of my Chocolate Monkey Krispie Poo treats are gone, I’m baking up a batch of these Almond Joy Krispie Treats from Glorious Treats.

Brenna’s been in a pissy mood lately, because we haven’t been paying her enough attention, due to work and several other engagements. I’m contemplating buying her love with this Marijuana Leaf Catnip Toy from misohandmade at Etsy. She’ll get so high playing with this toy, that she won’t care if we’re spending any time with her.
