It’s been awhile since I’ve taken the time to elaborate on my Thursday Thirteen picks, because quite frankly the recipes usually speak for themselves. However, I’m feeling a little chatty today, so you’ll just have to bear with me.

As much as I despise hot dogs, I can’t wait to try these Pretzel Hot Dogs from The Busy Spatula. I’ll use some sort of premium German sausage of course, because there is not a person alive in this world that I will eat a hot dog for.

I don’t know where shrubs have been all of my life, because I certainly have never heard of them before, but you can bet I plan on trying one of these Strawberry Basil Pink Peppercorn Shrubs from JJ Begonia. Most likely while quoting Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

I still have an entire jar full of apple butter that I took from my brother Matt’s house when we were packing up all of his treasured collections. I think he would want me to make these Apple Butter Bacon Wrapped Shrimp from Nutmeg Nanny with it.

Let’s just be honest. I really don’t want to eat this Buttermilk Chocolate Cake with Peach Filling and a Marzipan Cow from My Name Is Yeh, because I certainly have not turned into a cake person overnight. I’m just in love with the festive cow. I want this world to be overflowing with American flag cows. That’s my idea of a world worth living in.

I’ll be making a batch of these Crispy Parmesan Tomato Chips from Sugar-Free Mom in a few weeks, when our tomato plants start producing more tomatoes than B.O.B. Bob or I can possibly eat.

I don’t like stout, but occasionally I force B.O.B. Bob to buy it, because I NEED IT for making things like these Chocolate Stout & Blackberry Shortcakes from The Beeroness.

I have never like gin. NEVER! Until we recently bought a bottle from Copper Fox Distillery on our way home from a recent camping trip. Now I just have to make these Strawberry Gin Slushies from BHG Delish Dish

I’ve been contemplating doing a blog each month, where I take a recipe from someone else, and make it my own. First up is this Sun-Dried Tomato Crusted Chicken with Sunny Butter Sauce from The Mountain Kitchen. I’ve been dreaming of it since I first saw it on Instagram.

It’s that time of year when the zucchini in our garden start to grow faster than we can eat them, so this year I’ve decided to make Zucchini Brownies from Crazy for Crust with them. Who doesn’t love a brownie?

Forget the ice cream; I want to dig into this Crème Brûlée Frozen Custard from Spoon Fork Bacon. I can almost guarantee that it will be my new thing for this summer. Who’s ready to be my taste tester?
