Brenna and I had a last minute visit over the weekend with our best friends, Marney and Dale, who stopped by on their way back home, after a trip to that evil place known as the vet. Poor Dale is a Greyhound that has been having some health issues lately. The poor little guy had to have his right front leg amputated a few weeks ago. Dale had to stay in the car during the visit, but Brenna got to watch her mommy loving on him through the window. This sweet little dog is going through so much; I can’t imagine how confusing it must be for him.
Marney and I have been friends since the sixth grade. She is the one person that Brenna may actually like. Brenna will always come down to greet her, and will repeatedly shower her with adorable little kisses. Perhaps it’s just because she senses that Marney is allergic to her, and she’s really just trying to kill her. I choose to believe that she just knows an amazing person when she smells one. It’s a good thing that she’s nice to Marney, because she always brings us the cutest and sometimes silliest gifts. This day was no exception. She is the only friend I have that would give a Polly Pocket to me as a gift. Such a fun and quirky gift, but I absolutely love that seeing this in the store reminded her of me.
You have to remember, this is the girl I used to play Hello Kitty with; toys have played a big part in our time with one another. She also gave me the cutest handmade apron from India, which I can’t wait to wear. Perhaps I’ll just have to make something today for an excuse to put it on.
Brenna was not forgotten either, although I have a feeling she wishes she was. A bag of Composure Feline Bite-Sized Chews was not exactly her idea of a fun treat. According to the package, “Composure Feline Chews are for cats exhibiting nervousness, hyperactivity, anxiety or responding to environmentally induced stress.” In short, they were created just for Brenna. Her review of the product was not promising. They were worth a quick sniff, but no more than that. Perhaps she is just not ready to be calm today, and would like to keep her hyperactive state going. We’ll have to try them again sometime and see if the results are different. Until then, I’ll just have to accept her for the crazy kitty that she is.
Thanks Marney for the thoughtful presents, it’s nice to know that you’re always thinking of us. Brenna and I will keep Dale in our thoughts and prayers. Hopefully he’ll be back out there soon with his sister Autumn, ready to take on the world and every squirrel that crosses his path.
