Sadly Halloween comes but once a year. That’s why we choose to celebrate it from the day after Labor Day well into November. It deserves more than one day of acknowledgement. This year I chose to continue my costume apron tradition and be the White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. The idea came to me on Easter when my Big Bubba Matt gave me an extra pair of ears, which he ordered for The 5th Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Money. In his opinion they were just too white. (These shown here are the ones he deemed adequate for the occasion.) So all that was really left to do was pick out my apron and add a few accessories. My first step was to head over to Etsy and visit Sassy Apron, because Lana makes the best costume aprons. Really, you should see the detail on this apron; there was a lot of love put into it. After that, I headed over to Amazon, because where else can you find everything you need and have it delivered to your doorstep with a few clicks of a mouse? I decided that I must absolutely order a pair of plush Bunny Shoes, because I convinced myself that a rabbit just wasn’t a rabbit without cute little feet. Next up on the list was a clock. I decided that the best and most visual choice was to go with the Standard Rapper Clock, even if for no other reason than that I could receive an email that my rapper clock was on its way to my home. It may sound silly, but that email made my year. That and wearing my clock around the house while screaming “Flavor Flav Yeah Boy!!!” at the top of my lungs.
My Big Bubba Matt never disappoints when it comes to costumes, and like me he refuses to buy anything from a store. We Delawders like to put our own personal spin on the costumes we wear for Halloween. Several years ago Matt was a clown, but this year he was a rodeo clown. When he walked out of my bathroom in this getup I truly smiled. He’s just the best, and I love that he goes through the trouble of coming up with something unique each year. Make sure to check out this picture of the Sad Rodeo Clown hanging out by the fire during the party, as well as this picture of Matt several years ago as a Circus Clown.
So what about B.O.B. Bob? Well, once again he chose to wear a store-bought costume, but we’re not holding that against him. He at least chose something awesome this year, which helps him blend in with the scene that’s going on in our front yard/graveyard. Just check out those sexy knees; added bonus. Sorry ladies, he’s taken. He wore boxers underneath as well, which ruined all of our attempts to get a peek at his bum throughout the evening. B.O.B. Bob is such a killjoy sometimes. Do you make your own costumes for Halloween, or do you go the more popular route of visiting the party store for something to wear? B.O.B. Bob, Brenna, and I would love to see what ideas you come up with this year to celebrate the big day. B.O.B. Bob and I will be donning our costumes once again on Halloween night to pass out candy to the little goblins in our neighborhood. Hopefully we’ll get to see y’all if you live in the neighborhood. Stop by and hang out with us if you’ve got nothing else going on. I promise that I won’t scream “Yeah Boy!!!” more than 112 times throughout the evening.
