Tired of hum-drum, store-bought salad dressings that just don’t quite hit the spot? This simple, easy-to-make peppery salad dressing is a real game-changer. With a delightful balance of Dijon mustard, creamy mayonnaise, sweet honey, tangy apple cider vinegar, and a touch of seasoning, this will quickly become your go-to honey mustard salad dressing recipe. Say goodbye to store-bought and hello to homemade perfection.
When it comes to salad dressing and B.O.B. Bob, honey mustard is always a winner. And, since I poo-poo buying store-bought salad dressing, I constantly find myself making a homemade version right before we eat a salad for dinner. I mean, seriously, why buy a pre-made version with lots of added sodium and “unknown” ingredients, when you can make a homemade version in so little time? This particular version is absolute perfection. It’s not too thick, it’s not too thin, and it has a lovely peppery flavor that helps to balance out the sweetness of the honey and the saltiness of the Dijon mustard. If you’re searching for a go-to homemade dressing to add flavor to almost any salad, this is definitely a recipe you need to try. Don’t believe me? Just ask B.O.B. Bob. He’s a HUGE fan.

Ingredients:
- 1/2 Cup Mayonnaise
- 4 Tablespoons Honey
- 3 Tablespoons Dijon Mustard
- 3 Teaspoons Apple Cider Vinegar
- 3/4 Teaspoon Finely Ground Black Pepper
- 1/2 Teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/4 Teaspoon Finely Ground Sea Salt

Directions:
- Whisk all of the ingredients together in a glass bowl until smooth.

Suggestions:
- I used the World’s Best Penzeys Pepper for this recipe. If you’re looking for a finely ground black pepper that is consistently amazing, make sure to give this variety a try. I have yet to find any pre-ground pepper that beats its flavor.
- If you choose to use freshly ground black pepper for this recipe, you may want to use less. It has a much stronger flavor than finely ground black pepper.
- You can use this salad dressing right away, however, it’s best to let the flavors marry together for at least 30 minutes before use.
- Because of the vinegar in this recipe, make sure to make and store this salad dressing in a glass container.

Improvements:
- Add 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder to this salad dressing.
- Want to add a little bit of green color to this salad dressing? Add 1 teaspoon of dried parsley or 2 teaspoons of finely chopped fresh parsley.
- Experiment with different varieties of mustard. Try swapping in yellow mustard, spicy mustard, or stone-ground mustard.
