You’re obviously hungry, however, you’re afraid to ruin your appetite by filling up on non-traditional holiday fare before the real feast. Well, guess what y’all? I have a solution. These amazingly simple-to-make crescent rolls filled with cranberry sauce. Sounds pretty gosh darn yummy scrumptious, right? But wait, there’s more. They’re drizzled in a sweet maple icing. Are you swooning yet? Oh yeah, these are definitely the perfect little bite to keep you satisfied.

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-oz.) Package Refrigerated Crescent Rolls
  • Cranberry Sauce
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Teaspoon Unsalted Butter, Melted
  • 1 Teaspoon Light Brown Sugar, Packed
  • 1 Teaspoon Maple Extract
  • Pinch of Kosher Salt
  • 1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Open, unroll, and separate the crescent rolls. Spread 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce onto each crescent roll. Roll each crescent roll up long end to short end. Place the crescent rolls onto a Silpat or parchment paper-lined baking sheet, curving the ends in to form a moon shape.
  3. Crack the egg into a small dish and whisk it with a fork. Use a pastry brush to brush each crescent roll with the beaten egg.
  4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. Remove the crescent rolls to a baking rack to cool for approximately 15 minutes.
  6. Place the melted butter and brown sugar into a small bowl. Whisk well to combine.
  7. Add the maple extract and salt. Whisk well to combine.
  8. Whisk in the powdered sugar.
  9. Use the tines of a fork to drizzle the icing on top of each crescent roll.

Suggestions:

  • You can use any size or brand of refrigerated crescent rolls for this recipe. I used the original small-sized crescent rolls. If you use larger crescent rolls, you will need to increase the baking time.
  • Whole berry or jellied cranberry sauce can both be used for this recipe. Just make sure to mash the cranberry sauce up with a fork before spreading it out onto the crescent rolls.
  • Make sure when you spread the cranberry sauce onto each crescent roll, that you stay away from the edges so that the filling will not ooze out too much when you roll each crescent roll up.
  • Use homemade Roasted Maple Bourbon Cranberry Sauce for this recipe.
