You want big, bold flavors for your backyard grill, but you don’t want the added preservatives store-bought bottled marinades contain. With just a few pantry staples and a quick-and-easy homemade taco seasoning, you can create a zesty, Mexican-inspired grill marinade that makes steak, chicken, and pork taste absolutely incredible. It’s better for your health, better for your wallet, and light-years better for your taste buds.
Lately, I’ve been addicted to anything cooked on the grill, not to mention anything containing taco seasoning, which is a new thing for me. I’ve never been a huge fan of those little packets that you purchase in the spice aisle, due to their high spice and sodium content. However, after discovering a recipe online for homemade taco seasoning, I’m quickly changing my whole opinion on the subject of taco seasoning. I want to put it on, in, or over just about everything I make. This grill marinade is the first of three taco seasoning recipes I’ll be sharing with you this week. It’s amazing on steak, but would be just as great on chicken or pork.

- Place the marinade in a large Ziploc bag with whatever meat you are marinating, squish it around until it is well coated, and then allow it to marinade for at least 8 hours.
- Grilled steak is a great use for this marinade.
