Do you have fun plans for the big game tomorrow? Is football really even your thing? Do you even have any idea which teams are playing? If so, could you please tell me because I have absolutely no freaking idea. For us, football and the Super Bowl are seriously not such a big deal. However, that doesn’t stop us from wondering whether or not all of y’all will be snacking away on store-bought chips and salsa, or opting instead to make a big ol’ pot of spicy chili. Which is it? Store-bought or homemade? Well, I can tell y’all right now, ours is a little bit of both. Even though we don’t give a flying fig about the big game, we don’t let that stop us from celebrating with lots of delicious snacks and yummies. I hit the market this morning and totally stocked up on chips, salsa, and guacamole. However, I also bought a pot roast and all of the fixings to make a pot of Cajun chowder. I think I’m also going to try my hand at making gluten-free cornbread and perhaps some strawberry biscuits or scones. So as you can see, we should be eating pretty high on the hog while all those big ol’ men in really tight pants are tossing around the pigskin. In the meantime, here are some serious game day recipes for those of you who like to go the homemade route. There’s still plenty of time for you to get your game on.
